Teaching and Research Interests

I primarily teach the introductory course in physics - Physics 111. This is a concept oriented, 1-semester, 3-credits (with laboratory), introduction to the subject that emphasizes topics from mechanics. It is taken by non-science majors. I also teach introductory Quantum Mechanics and Mathematical Physics to physics majors.

My major interest is in physics pedagogy, especially how to make the subject interesting and accessible to students in elementary and secondary schools.

I consult with the Connecticut State Department of Education on content, assessment and evaluation related to physics as taught in public schools.
