Course Content: The course will cover Ch.19 – 28. Main topics to be discussed are Electricity and Magnetism, Light and Optics. May omit sections with asterisks. Knowledge of Physics 121, i.e. vectors, Newton's Laws, work and energy concepts etc will be assumed.  You will also be assigned weekly homework from the textbook as well as online homework, and encouraged to take advantage of Multimedia Interactive Physics CDs and Internet resources.

Exams: 3 one hour exams and a comprehensive final

First Exam ..........................September 24

Second Exam .........................October 22

Third Exam ..........................November 19

Final Exam .......................... Exam week

3 one hour exams ( 15% each)............= 45%

Online homework ..................................= 10%

1 comprehensive final exam ................= 20%

Lab..........................................................= 25%

Total .......................................................=100%

Each of the one hour exams will be made up of 10 multiple choice questions (60pts) and two word problems (40pts). The final will consist of 15 multiple choice questions (90pts) and three word problems (60pts)

Note: No exam make-ups are allowed except under special conditions (e.g. hospitalization etc).
